Privacy Policy

The short version
Stellum is built around one principle: your chart is yours. We do not sell your data, we do not run third-party analytics on your usage, and we do not share your readings with anyone. The only data that ever leaves your phone is what's needed to authenticate your account, save your profile, and generate your personalised daily readings — handled by Apple, Firebase, and our AI provider.
1. Who we are
Stellum is the developer of the Stellum iOS application. When this policy refers to “we,” “us,” or “our,” it means Stellum.
2. What data we collect
Account data
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique user identifier from that provider (e.g., an Apple ID or Google UID). If you sign in with Google and choose to share your email address, we receive that email. We use this identifier solely to associate your profile and subscription status with your account.
Profile data
To compute your natal chart and personalised readings, you can provide your first name, birth date, birth time, and birth place. This data is stored on your device and synced to your account so you can sign in on a new phone. We use it solely to compute your astrological placements and generate your readings.
On-device data
The following data is created and stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. It never leaves your phone:
- Saved tarot pulls and reading history
- Saved partners for compatibility comparisons
- Daily reading cache and viewed-state
- App preferences and notification settings
Deleting the app permanently deletes all of this on-device data.
Subscription data
Stellum uses Apple's StoreKit framework via RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. Apple processes all payments and provides a receipt that confirms your subscription status. We do not receive or store any payment card or financial information.
Crash and diagnostic data
If you have opted in to sharing analytics with developers in your iOS settings, Apple may provide us with anonymised crash reports. These contain no personal information and are used solely to fix bugs.
3. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase Authentication & Firestore (Google LLC) — manages sign-in via Apple and Google, and stores your profile so you can sign in on a new device. Firebase's privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
- RevenueCat, Inc. — manages in-app subscription state, receipt validation, and entitlement verification. RevenueCat receives an anonymised user identifier, your App Store receipt, and basic device metadata to confirm your subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive payment card information. Their privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
- OpenAI, L.L.C.— generates the personalised copy for your daily readings, natal placement readings, numerology readings, tarot interpretations, and Ask Stella replies. We send the minimum context needed (your birth placements, today's sky, the question you asked) and do not send your name, email, or account identifier. Per OpenAI's API terms, your prompts are not used to train their models. Their privacy policy is available at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
- Apple Sign in & StoreKit (Apple Inc.)— manages Apple ID authentication and in-app subscription billing. Apple's privacy policy is available at apple.com/legal/privacy.
We do not use any third-party advertising or behavioural tracking SDKs.
4. How we use your data
We use your account identifier and profile to:
- Compute your natal chart and personalised readings
- Verify that you have an active subscription
- Restore your subscription and profile on a new device
- Send you notifications you have opted in to
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.
5. Data retention and deletion
Your account record (user identifier, profile, and subscription status) is retained for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at hi@stellumapp.com and we will remove your record within 30 days. On-device data is deleted immediately when you uninstall the app.
6. Children
Stellum is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to how we process it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hi@stellumapp.com.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
